Wow! I can't believe that it has already been a month since Hyrum joined our family. Can I just say that I LOVE being a mom? Well I do! Jay is an amazing daddy. When Jay travels we video chat at least once or twice so that he can see our little man and talk to us. This is so Hyrum will still recognize Jay's voice when he comes home (my phone doesn't have a speaker phone). Now all we need to do is figure out a way for Hyrum and I to be able to see Jay! Anyhow, when Jay is home he is just so good with helping me take care of Hyrum. He comes home and immediately wants to hold him and is content with staying that way the rest of the night. We have so much fun getting to know and take care of our little man!
Hyrum's 1 Month Stats:
Weight- 9lbs 10oz (50th percentile) + 2lbs since leaving the hospital
Length- 22in (75th percentile) + 1/2 in since leaving the hospital
Things he is doing now:
- He Sleeps anywhere as long as its not his crib
- He recently decided that he likes sucking on his pacifier
- He loves music (Yes, I can tell already!)
- He likes the moby wrap
- He likes to be swaddled even though he complains about it while we are wrapping him up
- That being said he loves pretending to be Houdini, first it was one arm he would try and wiggle out, then it was both, then he moved on to his legs because he was such a pro at wiggling his arms out, and now he tries to bust out so that his arms and legs are flailing all over the place, which freaks him out by the way
- He only smiles in his sleep
- He actually enjoys tummy time! And he does a pretty good job at lifting his head up
Things he doesn't like:
- Baths! He hates them no matter what we do, but I love them because he sleeps so well after them!
- He hates when we change his clothes
- He doesn't mind when we change his diapers and if it wasn't for the cold wipe he would love diaper changes
Hyrum is a pretty good sleeper and we have been so grateful for this. For a couple of days he was waking himself up during the day when he was hungry however he has been a little bit under the weather lately so he just wants to sleep and it can be incredibly hard to wake him up. We try everything to wake him up and sometimes it takes 30 mins to wake him up. Below is a video of one of the ways that normally wakes him up the quickest.
